Kendra Maddox, Career Center Coordinator

Welcome!  The Career Center offers students and parents help with college and career planning. Students can also research after-school job postings or volunteer opportunities. You can also obtain help with putting together a resume' and even prepare for an interview.  The calendar below shows all the events that are sponsored or hosted by the Career Center.

Students and Parents are welcome to schedule a meeting with Kendra if you would like to discuss college and career planning.

FAFSA Verification
Was your FAFSA application called for verification? If yes, you will need to order official transcripts of all IRS 1040 forms used for the FAFSA application. The transcripts are free of charge from the IRS. Go to: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript to order the transcripts.
Class of 2017 - Scholarships
Class of 2017 Current Scholarship Total is $356,768. Seniors - if you have been awarded a scholarship please report this information to Kendra. Reporting forms are posted outside the College & Career Center - Room 107.
Current Juniors - College Planning
Colleges from around the state will be at GHS this Spring specifically to meet with Juniors. Please watch the College & Career Center Calendar for details. The Portland Spring College Fair will be at the University of Portland Chiles Center on Sunday, April 30th. You can save time at the fair by preregistering at www.gotocollegefairs.com.

State introduces new website
The State of Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission has unveiled a new website dedicated to providing Oregonians with resources for post high school career planning. Oregon Promise
Here are details about the Oregon Promise Tuition Grant - Apply as soon as you can in case of limited funding . Apply even if you don't quite have a 2.5 GPA - it's great motivation to finish high school with strong grades. Oregon Promise Information
